APPOINTMENT & CONTRACT INFORMATION
A contract is formed when the Client makes payment, confirms acceptance, or Decorbuddi begins work. The contract for Services is at all times between the Client and Decorbuddi. Decorbuddi may appoint a suitable designer to deliver some or all of the Services on its behalf. The appointment of such designer does not create a separate contract between the Client and that individual.
PAYMENT TERMS: DESIGN FEES
Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue or before work is due to commence, whichever date is earlier. Fees must be paid in full before Decorbuddi begins design work. Decorbuddi project quotes remain valid for 3 months from the date shown.
For Business Clients, late payments may incur interest in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. For Consumers, Decorbuddi may charge statutory interest where permitted by law.
If an invoice remains unpaid after its due date, Decorbuddi may pause Services until payment is received.
Fee payments are not contingent upon any third party.
PAYMENT TERMS: PRODUCT PURCHASING
Invoices for product purchases must be paid in full and in cleared funds prior to Decorbuddi placing orders with suppliers.
Quotes for product items and services purchased from third parties on your behalf are subject to supplier price increases in-line with their individual terms and conditions. These may be increased at any time. You will be notified in advance of the purchase being made and you are within your rights to cancel prior to purchase.
Products may be sourced from trade-only suppliers and, as a result, items may be non-cancellable, non-returnable, or subject to restocking fees, in accordance with supplier policies. These conditions differ from standard high-street or online retail purchases.
If you have any questions regarding a proposed purchase, please contact studio@decorbuddi.com prior to confirming the order. Once an order has been placed, it may not be possible to amend or cancel it.
If an invoice remains unpaid after its due date, Decorbuddi reserves the right to pause purchasing until payment is received.
Title to goods shall not pass to the Client until Decorbuddi has received cleared payment in full and the goods have been delivered.
PAYMENT METHODS
Direct bank transfer is the preferred method of payment for all products and services.
Decorbuddi does not accept credit card payments as standard. Where credit or debit card payments are agreed in advance, any business card fees, international card fees, or international bank transfer charges incurred by Decorbuddi will be payable by the Client as a surcharge prior to the commencement of design work or product purchasing.
CANCELLATIONS
Get Started Consultation cancellations will be refunded if cancelled up to 48 hours before the consultation. Full fees are still applicable if a cancellation is made within 48 hours of the appointment. Postponement of an appointment by the Client will lead to paid fees being held until the appointment can be rearranged. Any cancellation by Decorbuddi will lead to the fees being returned in full to the Client.
In the event of cancellation of any project by the Client, all outstanding hours worked are payable, together with all relevant expenses incurred or committed to. Should there be a delay of more than 4 weeks, to the completion of a phase of work, due to a change of client requirements, any outstanding fees for work already produced or committed to will be invoiced and payable within 7 days.
If Decorbuddi is unable to complete a phase of paid work, the fees for the remaining uncompleted work will be payable to the client within 7 days.
The client will not be beholden to make payment for any phase of work that has not yet commenced.
Blocks of Hours: If a project is cancelled or less hours than originally envisaged are required, the balance will be paid back to the client within 7 days of written notification of the cancellation/completion of the project. All hours must be used or refunded within 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Any refund will exclude fees for time already worked and any non-recoverable costs already incurred or committed.
CHANGES & DELAYS
Change to Scope of Work: The scope of work included in each phase of a bespoke project is clearly detailed in our proposal. On occasion the costs of the time and materials estimated for a project are exceeded for reasons that could not reasonably have been anticipated. This includes but is not limited to, additional design concepts, further design iterations, protracted decision-making, extra or extended client site or supplier meetings and/or sourcing. Any work that goes beyond the agreed scope will be advised in a timely fashion, estimated in writing and invoiced as an additional cost to the original agreement.
Change of Budget: A budget should be set and agreed at the beginning of the project. If this budget changes and results in elements of the work already designed not being fulfilled, the agreed design fee still applies. If the budget changes results in additional design work, additional design fees for this work will be applicable as this is a change in the agreed scope of work.
DRAWINGS & DESIGN MATERIALS
Decorbuddi provides a full detailed measuring and drawing service for interior and garden design purposes. All drawings (when provided) are for illustration and design purposes only and should not be used for construction.
This applies to all drawings, plans, sketches, visuals, marked-up documents, emails, messages, presentations or images in any format. No design material issued by Decorbuddi constitutes construction information.
Decorbuddi accepts no liability if drawings are used for anything other than the intended representational purpose of illustrating a design. All drawings require structural/technical verification by appropriate professionals and contractors must rely on their own verified measurements.
TRAVEL
Travel time, expenses and parking are included for all initial Get Started consultations, on and off-site client and contractor meetings and sourcing trips unless agreed in writing in advance.
When agreed, travel time is chargeable at 50% of the hourly design fee. Travel expenses will be charged at 45 pence (£0.45) per mile or the current rate of rail charges and parking tariffs and congestion charge as appropriate.
PROCUREMENT OF GOODS
For the purposes of supplying goods, Decorbuddi acts as a principal. All goods purchased through Decorbuddi are supplied to the Client under a contract between the Client and Decorbuddi.
Where the Client is a Consumer, Decorbuddi is responsible for complying with its obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes those statutory rights.
Decorbuddi sources goods from third-party suppliers and does not manufacture any goods. While reasonable care is taken in sourcing and specification, Decorbuddi is not responsible for manufacturing defects or failures arising from third-party suppliers, except to the extent required by law. Decorbuddi shall not be responsible for issues caused by improper installation, workmanship, mishandling, misuse, failure to follow manufacturer guidance, or environmental factors outside Decorbuddi’s control.
The Client must approve all specifications in writing prior to purchase. All measurements provided by Decorbuddi are for design and indicative purposes only, unless expressly confirmed in writing as “installation-ready dimensions”. Responsibility for verification of site conditions, access, substrate suitability and installation accuracy rests with the Client’s appointed contractor.
Decorbuddi’s obligations in respect of faulty goods are limited to the remedies required by law, which may include repair or replacement, or a refund or price reduction where appropriate. Manufacturer warranties apply in addition to statutory rights. No additional or extended warranty is given by Decorbuddi unless expressly agreed in writing.
Risk in the goods remains with Decorbuddi until the goods are physically delivered into the possession or control of the Client, the Client’s authorised representative, or the Client’s appointed installer, unless the Client has expressly authorised unattended delivery in writing. The Client or the client’s agent must inspect goods and notify Decorbuddi of any defects, damage or discrepancies in writing within 5 working days
Decorbuddi will manage claims with suppliers where notified in a timely manner. A 10% administration fee applies to returns managed by Decorbuddi, except where goods are damaged on delivery or are faulty, in which case no administration fee will apply.
Lead times, supplier delays or stock availability issues do not give rise to liability for indirect or consequential loss, unless caused by Decorbuddi’s negligence or breach of contract. Individual supplier Terms and Conditions are available on request.
BESPOKE GOODS
For bespoke or made-to-order items, additional terms imposed by the manufacturer or supplier may apply. These terms will be provided to you and form part of our contract with you.
Bespoke items cannot be cancelled or refunded once ordered except where they are faulty or not as described. Nothing in this clause affects the Client’s statutory rights in respect of faulty goods.
DELIVERY
Unless Decorbuddi has been employed to coordinate delivery of purchases, it is the responsibility of the Client to ensure that all items are checked on delivery and that they are correct and undamaged. Client must ensure receipt of Goods and retain packaging until installation. We strongly advise that every box is opened, and all items checked carefully even if there is likely to be a delay before they are installed. All damages, defects or wrongly delivered items must be reported in writing within five working days for any issues to be rectified.
Where the Client authorises goods to be left unattended, risk in the goods shall pass to the Client at that point, and Decorbuddi shall not be responsible for loss or theft thereafter.
PLANTS
Once plants purchased on your behalf have been delivered in good condition, Decorbuddi is not responsible for the subsequent health of the plants.
TRADE TERMS
Decorbuddi will retain commissions from trade purchases and the Client consents to these arrangements.
Decorbuddi has trade accounts with many suppliers. When Decorbuddi purchases from trade suppliers on behalf of a Client, a share of the savings made is passed on - so that our Clients pay less than they would if they were purchasing for themselves. If a Client prefers to purchase direct this is, of course, also an option. Decorbuddi places the utmost importance on choosing the most appropriate product for the project rather than selecting from a limited database of suppliers.
If the Client commissions Decorbuddi to purchase items from ‘high street’ or retail businesses where a trade account is not available, a 10% administrative charge is applied to cover the time involved and the associated risk.
In all cases quotes are prepared in advance for client approval. Purchases are made once payment has been received.
CONTRACTORS
Decorbuddi may, if requested, introduce the Client to independent tradespeople or contractors. Any such introductions are provided as a courtesy only and do not constitute a recommendation, endorsement or warranty of their services. This could include joiners, curtain makers, electricians and ‘handymen’ to name a few. The client will pay these tradespeople directly and is responsible for all aspects of the works undertaken.
Contractors are engaged directly by the Client and are not under the direction or control of Decorbuddi. Decorbuddi accepts no responsibility for the acts, omissions, delays or performance of any contractor or supplier engaged by the Client. It is the Client’s’ responsibility to ensure the insurance provided by these third parties is adequate.
Decorbuddi will not be obliged to accept the return of such bespoke items where the Client’s requirements are incorrect, whether regarding measurements or otherwise.
The Client is not obliged to use Decorbuddi suggested preferred suppliers, and is always at liberty to source trade suppliers to implement Decorbuddi designs.
Decorbuddi will help source suitable contractors, provide design specifications, brief and consult with the client and contractors for the purpose of communicating the design vision and intent. Decorbuddi does not provide project management services. This includes (without limitation) responsibility for scheduling works, supervising site activities, managing contractors, controlling health and safety, or administering building or trade contracts. Any guidance provided by Decorbuddi in relation to implementation is advisory only and does not constitute project management.
TRADE COMMISSION
Decorbuddi will receive trade commissions or referral fees from suppliers and contractors. These are included within the quoted price unless stated otherwise.
BUILDING SERVICES
Decorbuddi does not advise on building works should a project require them. Nor does Decorbuddi undertake any manual work. The client will appoint a main contractor directly to provide services in connection to the project for all building works. The client and appointed contractors will be responsible for agreeing on an appropriate building contract and agreement. It is your responsibility to ensure the insurance provided by these third parties you are engaging is adequate.
Decorbuddi may make design suggestions requiring structural changes throughout the course of the project. Decorbuddi does not have the expertise to accurately assess the structural integrity of these ideas. It is your responsibility to employ a construction expert to verify any design suggestion provided, whether verbal or written, prior to commencing building works.
HEALTH & SAFETY ON SITE
Where applicable, the Client is advised to review their obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Decorbuddi does not undertake the role of Principal Designer or Principal Contractor, nor responsibility for construction health and safety management, unless expressly agreed in writing.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Decorbuddi requests the right to photograph aspects of any project as it progresses.
Upon completion of any project Decorbuddi requests the exclusive right to photograph the interior and/or garden design for marketing and promotional purposes, together with any agreed before and/or progress images, within our website, social media and marketing materials (online and print).
Arrangements for our own professional photographer to visit the site will of course be made in agreement with the client. Neither your name nor address will be published unless you provide written permission. The project will be identified by the style of property and/or the town/area in which it is located. All marketing, promotional, and portfolio imagery relating to the project design shall be commissioned, owned, and controlled exclusively by Decorbuddi unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Clients may withdraw consent for marketing use at any time by writing to us. This will not affect any materials already published.
PROJECT PORTFOLIO
Upon completion of any project Decorbuddi requests the right to publish a portfolio case study about the project on the website and by way of social media and marketing materials (online and print). Your name and address will not be published unless you provide written permission.
OBLIGATIONS/CONTROL
Nothing in this agreement creates an employment, partnership or agency relationship between Decorbuddi and the Client, nor between the Client and any appointed designer.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Decorbuddi’s liability is capped at the total fees paid for the relevant matter. Decorbuddi shall not be liable for any representations, advice or services provided outside the agreed scope of the Proposal.
No liability for indirect or consequential loss. This does not apply to liability which cannot be excluded under law.
INSURANCE
Decorbuddi carries professional indemnity insurance cover to a limit of £1m and Public Liability Insurance of £1m. Policies are renewed annually.
DISCLAIMER
Decorbuddi does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury arising from its negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Subject to the above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Decorbuddi shall not be liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of savings, loss of business or loss of opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the Services, the supply of Goods, or reliance on any design materials provided.
Decorbuddi provides interior design, consultancy, sourcing and advisory project guidance services only. Decorbuddi does not provide architectural, structural, engineering, surveying, building or installation services. Any implementation activities, including works carried out by contractors or suppliers, are outside Decorbuddi’s control and responsibility, whether delivered following Decorbuddi designs or otherwise.
While Decorbuddi will act reasonably and in good faith at all times, outcomes dependent on third parties, supplier availability, lead times, site conditions or external factors beyond Decorbuddi’s control cannot be guaranteed.
Nothing in these Terms affects the statutory rights of Consumers under applicable UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
FORCE MAJEUR
The Company shall have no liability whatsoever for any failure to perform, or any delay in the performance of any of its obligations under the contract arising wholly or in part by reason of any factor beyond its direct control. Any factor beyond our direct control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks or impossibility of the use of railways, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.
If an event beyond our control affects the performance of our obligations under a contract, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you; and our obligations under the contract will be suspended.
