EDMUND Platacis
Interior Designer
“I am fascinated by the impact interior and architectural design has on us as individuals. Colours can change mood, objects can make you feel connected and the arrangement of space can affect your performance.
Working closely with my clients to create spaces that enhance their lives in this way is incredibly rewarding.”
Having travelled extensively and spent time living abroad, Edmund brings a broad, intuitive perspective to design. After pursuing his career at the renowned KLC School of Design in London, he worked at some of the city’s leading studios on a wide range of residential and hospitality projects, from elegant townhouses and city apartments to countryside retreats and boutique hotels across the UK and internationally.
Shaped by exposure to different cultures and ways of living, Edmund’s work is grounded in cultural awareness and adaptability. His design process is collaborative and instinctive, rooted in trust, careful listening, and a belief that every space should reflect the life and personality of its owner.
“I’m always interested in how a space feels. When design is done right, there’s a quiet sense of belonging - it feels like it couldn’t belong to anyone else. That’s always the goal.”
Now based in Maida Vale, London, Edmund blends international perspective with a refined, thoughtful approach - creating interiors that are calm, full of character, and unmistakably personal.
What clients say about EDMUND
Knightsbridge Apartment Refurb
"I approached Edmund to help me prepare my Knightsbridge apartment for sale, as it hadn’t been updated in quite some time. I was based in Egypt during the process, so I needed someone I could trust to manage everything on the ground. There were a number of repairs and updates required to bring the property up to standard, and Edmund handled it all - coordinating with contractors, overseeing the work, and ensuring every detail was completed to a high standard. His clear communication and professionalism throughout gave me complete peace of mind. The final result was exactly what the property needed, and I couldn’t have done it without him”
EAst Finchley House Refurbishment
“It was a pleasure working with Ed. He helped us with plans to renovate the entire house (new floorings, bathroom refit, repainting, new furniture & sofas etc).
He understood very well what we were using the house for, and came up with great ideas on how to rearrange the rooms to make the most of the existing space. It all came out very nice, functional and comfortable.
We highly recommend him for any design work.”
Maida Vale Loft & House Refurb
"Working with Edmund was a wonderful experience. I first used his services to design my living room, aiming for an inviting, contemporary yet eclectic feel that would complement my art collection. Edmund brought that vision to life beautifully.
His excellent communication and attention to detail were crucial for me, especially as I tend to be a perfectionist.
I was so pleased with the result that I asked him to take on the full refurbishment of my home, including converting the attic into a master bedroom and bathroom."

Design Style & Approach
Edmund’s approach to interior design is grounded in listening. He takes time to understand not only how his clients live or operate within a space, but how they want it to feel. This insight informs designs that are tailored, intuitive and genuinely reflective of the people using them. His interiors often blend period character with contemporary detailing, using rich textures, balanced proportions and carefully curated finishes to create warmth and depth.
Designing with longevity in mind, Edmund favours thoughtful layouts, refined material palettes and details that will stand the test of time rather than follow short-lived trends. He places strong emphasis on the relationship between architecture and interiors, ensuring that spaces feel coherent and well resolved from every angle.

Edmund’s portfolio includes a wide range of residential projects across London, from Victorian apartment refurbishments in Kensington and East Finchley to mews house renovations in Notting Hill and loft extensions in Maida Vale. His work demonstrates a consistent ability to modernise homes while respecting their architectural context, creating spaces that feel both fresh and familiar.
Alongside residential work, Edmund has designed hospitality interiors, including boutique cafés and leisure spaces, where atmosphere, durability and functionality must work in harmony.
