OUR APPROACH
Bathroom design brings together an unusually complex mix of practical requirements and design decisions. We consider them as a whole - from the layout, storage and lighting to the materials, fittings and finishes - creating a space that works beautifully and feels entirely connected to the character of the home.
Our experience ranges from listed buildings and challenging loft extensions to hardworking family bathrooms and luxurious en-suites. We find imaginative solutions for awkward layouts, limited space and storage, while using bespoke joinery, layered lighting and carefully chosen materials to give each design its own identity.
Depending on the property and what our clients want to achieve, we may introduce artwork, plants, colour and unexpected decorative details. The result can be calm and understated or bold and striking, but it is always practical, beautifully considered and distinctly personal.

Consultation
We start by understanding what is and is not working in the existing space; the look and feel you want to create, alongside the storage and practical requirements. We consider the constraints and opportunities that may shape the design and discuss this at our consultation to refine the brief, scope of works and action plan.
Concept & Plan
We develop an inspiring design concept around your vision, whether that is a luxurious spa-like retreat or a fresh, uplifting shower room. We consider the layout, materials, sanitaryware and lighting, balancing the desired aesthetic with the practical realities of the space in consultation with our trusted contractors.
Design Detailing
We refine every element to ensure the bathroom design is beautifully resolved, from finishes, fittings, bespoke storage and joinery to lighting and precise tile layouts. Detailed drawings and 3D visuals may be created as required, bringing every decision together into one coherent scheme before implementation begins.
Implementation
Bathrooms demand particular precision, with careful coordination between specialist trades to ensure the design is implemented correctly. We can oversee delivery through our trusted trade network, managing each stage through installation and final styling, or provide a detailed plan for your own contractors to implement, as desired.

Tadelakt Bathroom Design
“As with many old houses the bathrooms were an afterthought and therefore small with little opportunity to extend. Lorraine, employing great design, has maximised the space and created a luxurious bathroom design.”
This small, awkwardly shaped bathroom was transformed into a light-filled, luxurious retreat.
Seamless Moroccan Tadelakt walls flow into a hard-wearing microcement floor, creating a calm, sculptural finish without tiles or grout lines, while brushed-gold details add warmth and understated glamour.

Every Decorbuddi bathroom project is led by a carefully selected interior designer with experience creating beautiful, highly considered spaces. From luxurious en-suites and hardworking family bathrooms to compact shower rooms and challenging loft spaces, we resolve the practical complexities while creating your individual bathroom design.
Your designer considers every detail, from layout, lighting and sanitaryware to specialist materials such as tiles, tadelakt, natural stone, bespoke storage, joinery details and fittings. They remain your single point of contact throughout, supported by our centralised procurement and administration team and trusted network of specialist bathroom fitters, tilers, joiners and suppliers as required.
The result is a carefully coordinated bathroom design experience, from the first consultation and initial concept through to installation and final finishing touches.

How do I make a bathroom look luxurious?

What makes a bathroom look cheap rather than high-end?

Designers point to a consistent set of culprits: bulky, oversized vanities that crowd a small room; glossy, mismatched tiling; plastic fittings and accessories that discolour and cheapen the look over time; and visual clutter left out on surfaces. The fix is usually less about how much you spend and more about editing down and choosing the correct elements.
Can you improve a small or awkward bathroom?

Yes. Small and oddly shaped bathrooms, common in older properties, are one of the areas where good design makes the biggest difference. We plan the layout carefully before choosing any finishes.
We are always aware of current bathroom design trends, but we are not led by them. Each bathroom is shaped by the character of the property, the way our clients use the space and their individual style. We may introduce contemporary materials, colours or fittings where they enhance the design, but our priority is to create a personal, beautifully considered bathroom that will continue to feel right for years to come.
