SKI CHALET
MOrzine Chalet Interior Design
Set on Rue des Ardoisières, where slate mining once helped shape Morzine’s economy, this chalet apartment takes its cue from the town’s past. Slate coloured floor tiles run throughout, a subtle reference to the local landscape and a unifying thread between the rooms inside.
The interiors feel collected rather than contrived, with local and global pieces sitting comfortably side by side. Inherited antique armchairs, brought back from India, a cabinet made by an artisan in nearby Les Gets and artwork by friends and family. In the bedroom, a hand-made macramé hanging traces the Nyon summit, visible down the valley, whilst Tania Johnson Design rugs add layers of luxury.
Created by joining two apartments, we reworked the layout to accommodate four/five bedrooms, four bathrooms and generous space for eight to ten guests. Clean lines and natural textures meet playful comfort, from the handmade goat-skin bar stools to the colourful sofas in the media room.
