London Luxury Kitchen Design

Soft Kitchen StYle

This London family kitchen was designed as part of a carefully reconfigured ground floor to maximise space, functionality, and flow - a considered response to modern London living where every square metre matters.

Set within a new extension, the kitchen includes a multifunctional bar area with integrated fridge and Art TV, supporting everyday family life as well as relaxed entertaining. Softly coloured cabinetry in pale green and pink sits alongside porcelain chequerboard floor tiles in warm neutral tones, creating a layered, welcoming kitchen that feels calm, characterful, and deeply lived in.

A former middle room has been transformed into a highly practical utility and downstairs WC, incorporating integrated laundry, generous storage, and a sink - an invaluable extension of both the kitchen and hallway.

A beautifully imperfect family kitchen designed to work hard and feel like home.

“Every element of the interior design was carefully chosen to allow the space to feel relaxed, welcoming, and beautifully lived in, while working incredibly hard behind the scenes. Nothing feels too precious or showy- instead the design is soft and gentle and creates a quiet wow.”

More About This Soft Kitchen Interior Design Project, London

This kitchen was designed to feel like a natural extension of the living space: warm, welcoming, and unapologetically lived in. A true example of a soft kitchen, it balances comfort and character with clever functionality, creating a home that supports busy careers, family life, and everything in between.

Nothing here feels too precious. Instead, the space embraces everyday living - a young child, a dog, family meals, and relaxed entertaining - while still delivering a sense of wow.

A Kitchen That Feels Like a Living Space

From the outset, the brief was clear: this kitchen needed to feel cozy, relaxed, and connected to the rest of the home. Rather than a sleek, stand-alone cooking zone, the kitchen was designed as part of a continuous ground floor layout - somewhere to cook, gather, unwind, and spend time together.

The result is a space that feels more like a living room with a kitchen within it, softened through colour, texture, and thoughtful detailing.

Designed for Real London Life

As luxury interior designers working in London, we understand the realities of city living. Beautiful neighbourhoods, great schools, and leafy parks often come with a compromise on space - which means interiors must work harder to make the most of every square meter.

The ground floor layout was carefully reconfigured to maximise functionality without sacrificing atmosphere. Within the new extension, a dedicated bar and drinks fridge sit beneath an Art TV, creating a multifunctional zone that works equally well for family time, entertaining, and relaxing.

The middle room behind the kitchen now houses a utility area with stacked washing machine and tumble dryer, a pull-out laundry shelf, a sink for muddy boots and paws, and ample storage, alongside a downstairs WC neatly tucked under the stairs. Discreet yet essential, this space underpins the success of the entire layout.

Beautifully Imperfect by Design

This bespoke kitchen design was never meant to feel showroom-perfect. Our clients lead full lives - balancing big careers with a child under three and a dog - and the design reflects that.

Materials and finishes were chosen to age gracefully, becoming more beautiful with use. The softness of the design lies in its imperfection: nothing feels forced or precious, yet every detail has been carefully considered.

The bespoke kitchen was crafted by Naked Kitchens, chosen for their commitment to timeless design, quality craftsmanship, and kitchens that are made to be lived in.

A Colour Palette with a Story

The colour palette evolved naturally, inspired by the soft pastels of Neapolitan ice cream - a happy accident that later revealed a deeper connection. There are Italian family roots and treasured memories of Tuscany, where the couple were married.

Tall larder cupboards are finished in a gentle pink, while the remaining cabinetry is a pale, calming green. Together, they create a playful yet sophisticated balance that feels warm, nostalgic, and quietly joyful.

The chequerboard floor tiles - combining soft beige, taupe, and grey tones - elevate the classic shaker kitchen into something more whimsical. The pattern introduces movement and charm while creating an optical illusion that makes the kitchen feel larger than it is.

Porcelain tiles were selected not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their practicality - ideal for underfloor heating and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. We worked closely with Ca' Pietra to source a tile that met both the design vision and the demands of everyday family life.

A Foodie’s Kitchen

This kitchen was designed for someone who truly loves to cook. Every functional element was thoughtfully chosen, with the client taking a hands-on role in selecting the taps - including a specialist pot filler - ensuring the space performs exactly as needed.

It’s a kitchen that supports serious cooking while remaining relaxed, sociable, and deeply inviting.

The Result

A soft kitchen designed for modern London living - warm, hardworking, and full of character. A luxury kitchen interior that embraces family life in all its beautiful imperfection, delivering clever planning, timeless design, and a quiet sense of wow.
