Lorraine brings a global perspective and a highly intuitive approach to interiors, shaped by years living and working in Southeast Asia and honed through projects across London and Surrey. With a background in senior project management during the early days of online media, she’s naturally detail-driven and organised - skills that bring structure and clarity to every stage of the design process.
Her passion for interiors was sparked in Thailand and Bali, where she sourced antiques and artisan homewares while designing stylish, characterful homes. That influence continues in her work today, seen in her ability to mix old and new, inject personality, and find inspiration in the natural world.

“I worked with Lorraine Sakharet on our new home project over a 3 month period. It was a complete renovation of a three bedroom bungalow in Walton-on-Thames. As I was heavily pregnant at the time, the project had to be fast tracked and run at quite an agile pace. “Lorraine and I worked together over a 12 month period to renovate a tired, unused, plastic littered playroom space that my children had outgrown to a chic, sophisticated, upscale bar.
My vision was a space that was versatile enough to fulfil the needs of the entire family from girlie drinks & book club to football sporting events & after dinner drinking & dancing if we fancied. This could have been Mount Everest to an interior designer, but not for Lorraine.
Lorraine focused on the spatial layout of the room and its challenges. At a practical level, the bar, cabinetry, lighting, seating and sound system needed to be sourced across multiple contractors. She developed the design in detail to enable selection of the right contractors based on capability.
Lorraine was able to establish collaborative working relationships through the supply chain and set up communication channels to ensure integration between contractors. She brought the right level of decision making to me as the client clearly presenting the required information to make an informed decision.
She displayed strong problem solving skills throughout the whole project whilst continuously striving for the highest quality and always keeping with the original design intention.

“I recently worked with Lorraine on a few small projects where I was seeking ad hoc design advice to help me set the house up following a relocation from overseas. This involved paint colour suggestions, sourcing new pieces of furniture, and integrating pieces we’d brought back with us.
Lorraine has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She was able to instantly grasp my style and what I wanted to achieve, and provided extremely helpful hints and tips, giving me the confidence to make the final design decisions myself. She also provided suggestions to suit a wide ranging budget, with some more expensive options and then less expensive ideas/elements to help offset that, or to fit a practical need. “Lorraine has been an absolute joy to get to know and to work with. This has been the most enjoyable home project that we have ever done and we’re truly thrilled with the end result. We converted our loft to create a master bedroom, en-suite, dressing room and work space. It was important for us that the room was light, zoned, functional (despite the awkward lines) but above all felt like a calm sanctuary, somewhere where we could retreat at the end of a busy day and genuinely switch off and relax.
Lorraine had so many fabulous design ideas and could suggest things that we would never have thought of. I was most impressed though with the way in which she really listened to what we were hoping to achieve and curated her ideas perfectly. She took all the hassle away by doing research on our behalf and then sharing her ideas visually in a google book which we found really helpful. She was then able to really build on the things that we liked and pull together a cohesive and beautiful design. All the paint choices were gorgeous and contained no nasty chemicals. And she introduced us to a wonderful carpenter who built bespoke dressing room furniture that could be easily moved on castors to allow access to the eaves. She also introduced us to trades who she had worked with often and were fantastic - trustworthy, polite and above all produced an excellent quality finish.
Truly, a large home project can be daunting with lots of decisions to be made but Lorraine calmly led us through the process from start to finish, helped with all of the difficult questions and made this whole experience enjoyable. Loved getting to know Lorraine, we had some laughs along the way and I am confident that we will be back to ask her to help again in future. Thank you again Lorraine.
