Tracy Duncan

Interior Designer

For me, the success of a project comes down to good communication and trust. When the client’s vision and the design process are in sync, everything flows, from sourcing and styling to the final reveal. That’s what turns a good space into a place that truly feels like home

Following a long and successful career as a Visual Merchandiser for some of fashion’s best-known brands, moving into interior design felt like a natural next step for Tracy. She had already renovated her own homes and used a career break while starting her family to retrain at the renowned KLC School of Design.

“As a very visual person, I’ve always loved creating inviting, comfortable spaces. Formal training gave me the tools to channel that creativity into helping both UK and international clients transform their properties.”

Tracy takes a collaborative approach to every project. She believes that understanding how her clients live is key to designing homes that not only look beautiful but also work seamlessly day to day.

“I draw inspiration from natural forms, modern architecture, and beautifully designed hospitality spaces, always with an eye on how materials, light, and proportion interact. I have a particular love of mirrors, using them not just as practical pieces but as sculptural elements to bring texture, light, and depth to a room.”

Based in Haywards Heath, Tracy enjoys working across a broad mix of projects, from listed Georgian properties in Brighton to countryside homes across Sussex and Surrey. Her most recent work involved the full renovation of a house and garden on a private estate, delivering a turnkey solution for an international client.

What clients say about Tracy

Victorian Town House, Brighton

“Tracy created new designs for our living room, snug, bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. She listened to our ideas and then developed them into a cohesive scheme, presented as 3D drawings.

We wanted to create an inside-outside look and feel for the kitchen extension and patio garden, and so it was particularly helpful to have the option to have both an interior and garden designer working together.

We are delighted and couldn’t recommend both designers more highly.”

House Renovation, Reigate

“It was an absolute pleasure to work with Tracy from Decorbuddi.

We had building work for more than 2 years and Tracy helped us to get through that stressful time with patience and lots of great/beautiful ideas.

Tracy is very talented and a really kind person! We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Decorbuddi. Thank you!”

Commercial Client, Home Counties

“We’ve worked with Decorbuddi Interior Designer Tracy Duncan on many projects now. She has a great understanding of the clients’ vision, producing a variety of designs to suit any budget. She has a good knowledge of construction itself, giving her designs practicality we are not used to having with other designers.”

More About Tracy Duncan

Based in Haywards Heath and working across Sussex, Surrey and London , Tracy Duncan is an experienced interior designer known for her calm, collaborative manner and her ability to deliver elegant, highly liveable homes through thoughtful design and carefully managed renovation projects. Her work spans coastal Brighton properties, countryside houses across Sussex and Surrey, prestigious private estates, and turnkey residential projects for global clients, always approached with quiet confidence and close attention to detail.

Tracy creates interiors that feel balanced, welcoming and naturally elegant. Rather than imposing a signature look, she draws out the character of both the property and the people who live there, resulting in spaces that feel effortless, personal and enduring.

Background & Career Journey

Tracy’s route into interior design followed a long and successful career in visual merchandising for several of fashion’s most recognisable brands. This experience developed her instinctive understanding of composition, proportion, colour and spatial storytelling - skills that now underpin her interior design work.

Having already renovated her own homes, Tracy used a career break while starting her family to retrain at the renowned KLC School of Design. Formal training enabled her to translate her visual creativity into fully realised interiors, equipping her with the technical knowledge and professional processes required to guide clients through complex residential transformations.

Since joining Decorbuddi, Tracy has built a reputation for thoughtful collaboration, clear communication and an ability to support clients calmly through every stage of a project, from early concept and spatial planning through to final installation.

Areas Tracy Covers

Tracy works extensively throughout West and East Sussex, including Brighton, Hove, Haywards Heath and the surrounding countryside, as well as across Surrey, and touching on Kent and London. Her portfolio also includes residential projects for international clients and prestigious private estates, demonstrating her ability to deliver design continuity across locations while maintaining close client relationships.

Design Style & Approach

Tracy’s interiors are defined by clarity, softness and a naturally luxurious restraint. She is drawn to the interaction between materials, light and proportion, often creating calm, layered environments inspired by natural forms, contemporary architecture and refined hospitality spaces.

Her approach is deeply collaborative. By understanding how clients truly live - emotionally as well as practically - she designs homes that function beautifully day to day while still feeling special. Mirrors, texture and subtle tonal variation are frequently used to introduce depth and light, creating spaces that feel quietly sophisticated rather than overtly decorative.

Although her personal aesthetic leans toward pared-back elegance, Tracy adapts fluidly to each brief, ensuring every project remains authentic to the client and the architecture.

Renovation, Turnkey & Estate Projects

Tracy’s recent work includes the full renovation of a house and garden on a private estate delivered as a turnkey project for an international client, alongside major residential refurbishments across Sussex and London. Her portfolio also encompasses large-scale homes on prestigious estates, coastal Brighton renovations, new extensions, and whole-house redesigns that integrate architecture, interiors and landscape.

Across each project, Tracy’s strength lies in her ability to visualise spatial potential clearly and communicate ideas through confident drawings and carefully considered design schemes. This clarity enables clients to move forward with assurance, even on complex, long-term renovations.

Working With Tracy

Clients consistently describe Tracy as warm, patient and exceptionally easy to work with. Her understated confidence, strong visual imagination and meticulous attention to detail create a reassuring design process that feels both professional and personal. She is particularly valued for guiding clients through decision-making with calm clarity, helping them achieve results that feel more resolved and refined than they imagined possible.

Supported by Decorbuddi’s trusted network of suppliers, craftspeople and contractors, Tracy ensures that every project progresses smoothly from concept through to completion.
